Wonder Bread products recalled: pieces of metal

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is being criticized for its handing of a nationwide recall of Wonder Bread products. It issued a recall for several brands of bread and buns due to pieces of metal in the products on November 1, 2024, but did not spread the information widely until 5 days later.

The bread products affected total 37 brands, including Country Harvest, D'Italiano, Great Value, No Name and Wonder, and were sold in Ontario, Quebec and Newfoundland and Labrador.

A full list of the recalled products can be found on the CFIA's website. The CFIA rates this a low risk situation, however, those with affected products should not eat or sell them.
