Exciting Developments at Epicure: What You Need to Know

Changes in Leadership and Vision

There are a couple of developments regarding Epicure this week. The reaction ranges from glee to fury!

First, former Epicure CEO Amelia Warren has partnered with her husband, Kyle Vucko, and the founders of Magic Scoop. They are relaunching the company with an expected return to the marketplace this summer.

“Acquired by a passionate group of Canadian entrepreneurs, Epicure is preparing to relaunch with a renewed commitment to its values, community, and made-in-Canada roots.” ~Epicure.com

This exciting change brings new hope. An affiliate program and retail marketing are planned, similar to those used by A Spice Affair. Forgive me if I take a moment to boast, but I kinda nailed it with my first post about the Epicure saga 12 weeks ago.

Community Reactions

There is lots of reaction in the Epicure in Bankruptcy Facebook group. Most of it expresses outrage over what is seen as gall on the part of Warren. Many former "ambassadors" are still owed a great deal of money. They express a determination to boycott the new company in any form.

However, some welcome the return of the popular products. I, for one, look forward to Epicure 2.0, but then I didn’t lose my income stream or unpaid commissions when the original company, owned by Amelia’s mother, Sylvie Rochette, went belly up.

“After all the emotional turmoil they put us through between January 24-now April 17, I’m very skeptical of all of it! But I do LOVE all my Epicure favourites!” ~Former Epicure Ambassador

This illustrates the deep connection many have with the brand.

Youngevity's Bid and Its Implications

Outrage and amusement also swirl around the fate of Youngevity. They posted that they were unsuccessful in their bid to secure Epicure's intellectual properties. Many believe they didn’t really want the assets and placed a low-ball bid. Their true goal, according to some, was to sign up former ambassadors, positioning themselves as the de facto new owners.

This announcement adds another layer of complexity to the situation.

Asset Disposal Announcement

The second announcement came from auction house Able Auctions. They are handling the disposal of all assets associated with the North Saanich, B.C., operation. A video is online, and complete details can be found on their website.

The video makes for cool viewing. It provides a behind-the-scenes look at how the products were made, warehoused, and shipped. For those interested, it is a fascinating insight into the production process.

My Epicurean Kitchen and Future Plans

So, how does this affect My Epicurean Kitchen? I will continue to source and sell Epicure 1.0 products as long as there is demand for them and the products can be sourced.

I have also decided to become an affiliate of A Spice Affair, a Montreal-based blender of high-quality herbs and spices.

“Our blends are 100% plant-based. Clean, Natural, Non-GMO, Filler-free, Soy-free, Dairy-free, Nut & Peanut-free, Vegan & Vegetarian friendly.” ~A Spice Affair

This family-owned company prioritizes clean eating. I tried their products and loved them, and my family did as well. Now, I make them available to you as well. As an affiliate, I buy products at a discount, much like a wholesaler, and sell them at the suggested retail price through my shop.

Mixed Emotions

The changes at Epicure are stirring emotions across the community. Some people are hopeful for the company's revival, while others are skeptical due to past experiences. Regardless of where you stand, staying informed about these developments is crucial. The future of Epicure and its products is worth watching closely.

If you have any thoughts or reactions to these changes, please share them. Your perspective is valuable, and together we can navigate the evolving landscape of Epicure and related offerings.
