Frequently Asked Questions
Where do you get your products?
As of January 2026, my inventory of Epicure products consists largely of product bought from Epicure directly, or from the Epicure liquidation sales or the auction of Epicure products held following the 2025 bankruptcy. I also buy Epicure product from retail liquidators. A Spice Affair products are bought directly from that Montreal-based company and from retail liquidators.
Where is my order?
You will have received an email confirming the shipment of your order with a tracking number. It you can no longer find that email, use the Contact form or the Chat function and provide me with details of your order and I will send you the information.
How quickly do you ship?
Between October 15 and April 30 my goal is to ship within 24 hours of completed payment, weather permitting (I live in central Alberta.) Between May 1 - October 14, which is RV season, I ship weekly no later than Friday all orders for which payment has been received. Please remember, this isn't Amazon. You're dealing with an independently owned and operated small business.
Do you offer local pickup?
Absolutely, and most orders are ready for pickup within 4 hours. You will receive an email with the exact address in Edmonton at which you can pick up your order.
What shipping methods do you use?
Within Canada, orders are shipped via Canada Post and UPS for a flat rate of $9.99.
Do you ship to the USA?
Regrettably, no. Shipping to the USA by an individual such as myself is prohibited by the FDA and as a result no carriers will accept shipments of food products for delivery in the States.
What is your Refund/Return policy?
Due to the nature of the products, returns are not possible. If, however, any product is found to be unsatisfactory I will gladly and quickly process a refund for the value of that product, no questions asked.
I want to order something that is out of stock. When will it be available?
First, make sure you hit that Notify When Available button on the product page. You will receive an email once that product is again available to buy. Be aware, though, that some popular items sell out as soon as they are relisted and notifications are sent out. You can also pre-order some Epicure and A Spice Affair products that go out of stock. This is one way I know which products are in demand for my purchasing.
Do you replace broken jars?
No. I make every effort to ensure that products sold in jars are wrapped to prevent breakage and label outgoing parcels as Fragile. Shipments are insured with the carrier. If you experience a situation where the jars arrive broken, please send me a photo of the shipping label and the broken product so that I can process a claim and refund your purchase.
Do the Epicure gluten-free baking products have to rest after mixing, before baking?
The company has stated in the past that, while most gluten free baking products require a resting stage after mixing of up to 30 minutes or more, their products do not require this resting stage, with the exception of the Pancake & Waffle Mix, for which a rest period following mixing of 30 minutes is suggested.
What is the shelf life of spice and herb blends?
Spice blends are shelf stable for as much as three years, and longer in some cases. All herbs and spices and blends should be stored in a cool, dry place to ensure the best quality. All products are stored in a light- and humidity-controlled location.
