The affected product is being recalled from the marketplace due to possible Cronobacter spp. contamination.

Cronobacter is a bacteria that occurs naturally in the environment. It's sometimes found in dry foods, such as powdered infant formula, powdered milk and herbal teas. While Cronobacter infections are rare, they can be fatal for infants, and can be serious in elderly people and those with weakened immune systems.
Symptoms of Cronobacter
Signs and symptoms of a Cronobacter infection depend on the age of the person.
In infants (less than 1 year old), they may include:

fever
-
poor feeding
-
excessive crying
-
very low energy
-
seizures
In people of all ages, including infants, Cronobacter can cause:

urinary tract infections
-
wound infections (in cuts or surgical incisions)
If you become ill
See a health care provider immediately if you or your baby are experiencing any of the signs and symptoms described above, or if you are concerned that you or your baby may have a Cronobacter infection.
Diagnosing Cronobacter
A health care provider can diagnose a Cronobacter infection through laboratory testing that detects the bacteria in blood or cerebrospinal fluid.
Treating Cronobacter
Cronobacter infections usually respond to treatment with antibiotics.
If you suspect your baby has a Cronobacter infection, see a health care provider right away to start antibiotic treatment.
