On March 10, 2026, Loblaws, Canada's largest food and pharmacy retailer, reported what it described as a "low-level data breach" in which basic customer information - names, addresses and phone numbers - were accessed by a bad actor.
Since then, some questions have been raised on social media about the extent of the breach, with suggestions that passwords and credit card information may also have been accessed.

The hack, according to Loblaws, affects all PC Optimum members who shop with Real Canadian Superstore, Shoppers Drug Mart, No Frills, Flashfood, but is not reported to have affected PC Financial clients.
For the foreseeable future I will be asking all who place orders to confirm their order by responding to a separate email.
WHAT YOU SHOULD DO?
- Be wary of phishing emails asking you to confirm you password or banking information.
- Consider changing your PC Optimum password as a precaution.
- Check your credit card statements regularly for potential fraudulent charges.
